In 1822, a cheder was already organized by the community – with a melamed living in Sawin. The first synagogue in the shtetl was built in 1884, the second one in 1925. The Jewish community had a mikvah on the Koscielna Street
In 1673 21 Jewish families were living in Sedziszów. The existence of a synagogue is not mentioned until 1760. In 1880 the local kehillah had more than 1000 members, two synagogues, cemetery and a religious school
